Sgt. Henry Roe (veteran, USAF) suffers from ALS (commonly known as  “Lou Gehrig’s Disease.” With a passion for fishing and helping vets, Henry is known as a man who spreads joy and smiles everywhere he goes.

Last year, Freedom Sings USA’s Donovan Chapman sat down with Henry to write “Windows Of Your Mind” – which appears on the Freedom Sings USA album SPECIAL OPS, VOLUME 1. The song, co-written by Henry, is based on Henry’s experiences as a veteran, his love of life and his struggles with ALS.

Henry’s charitable foundation HeRoes 4 ALS (heroes4als.world) helps disabled vets find community and healing through fishing and outdoor activities.

Henry has developed specialized fishing equipment to assist wounded and disabled vets to participate in fishing and boating activities. For more information on Henry’s “Monster Catch” device and other adaptive outdoor gear, please visit thatothersmayrise.org/updates/2020/6/15/monster-catch-2020

Henry’s family says he is “always there when you need some cheer.” Life changed dramatically for Henry when he was diagnosed with ALS. Henry’s ALS (a terminal muscle-wasting disease) is extremely advanced as evidenced by his difficulty breathing and even just holding his head up for any amount of time.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help pay for Henry’s medical expenses. Please give at www.gofundme.com/f/2bfn9h8.

He and his family would never ask, but a donation of any amount will help.
