CHILDREN / TEEN’S NATURE SONGWRITING RETREAT

Freedom Sings USA is proud to offer its first annual Children and Teen’s Nature Songwriting Retreat for Gold, Blue and White Star children of service members and children of active duty and veterans. The Retreat is free of charge and will be held on Friday, April 22 and Saturday, April 23, 2022, at the Tennessee River Gardens in Chattanooga, TN (Address: 22573 US-41, Chattanooga, TN 37419).

Beginning at 4:00 PM EST on Friday, April 22rd children and teens aged 10 – 17 can enjoy therapeutic nature activities run by Outdoor Chattanooga, as well as games, a cookout and creating a support system. Counselors from local organizations, ROTC volunteers as well as Freedom Sings USA veterans and volunteers will also be on site. Six children/teens from the group will be selected to meet with songwriters to talk about their feelings and thoughts about what is happening in their lives as a child of a service member or their loss or fears.

On Saturday morning, our songwriters will help the children with creative writing and put their stories into a song. A concert will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 5:00 PM EST at Lookout Valley Baptist Church, 23 Lilac Ave, Chattanooga.

The songs written during this retreat will be featured. Everyone is invited to attend. The lead songwriters are Grammy nominated Steve Dean and Don Goodman featuring Hunter Girl, Billy Crain and Donovan Chapman. All CDC recommended safety procedures will be observed.
